about this blog: Whenever I try to write or rewrite this description it sounds like something off that one Geocities site I had in the eighth grade. This is an accumulation of things. Mostly original content, and if not original, then relevant. I tend to write about sense of place, being a lady, and my morning commute. I tend to take [blurry iphone] pictures of objects from the thrift store, other people’s animals, and things around my neighborhood. I am reluctant to describe myself as a city-dwelling twenty-something that is absorbed in that elastic period, but sometimes you have to be honest. As of late 2011, this has basically become a cat blog.
about me: I grew up in Connecticut and went to school in Wisconsin where I learned about writing and how to love the midwest. Now I live in Chicago, in Logan Square with my roommate Sparks and a fluctuating sense of guilt about what’s happening to the neighborhood. In the past I’ve managed the office of a non-profit law firm and worked in a charter school on the northwest side. I now work at a university as a program assistant for a community-based internship program, am an associate editor over at ACM, and go to grad school for college student development. I like old houses and good beer and riding bikes. I like books and making food and sitting outside. I like the internet even though I don’t want to. I am, in fact, allergic to tomatoes.
contact: If for any reason you’d like to get in touch with me, you can do so either here or here.
